Pros

Unlike other filters, this filter will not add any other unwanted color that isn't already in the viewing area.

This piece seems more like 3.5%-40% transmission when it’s being used.

Cons

It's a little too large to use with some telescopes, particularly with the Celestron NexStar 4SE.

It's essentially two filters stacked, so when it’s attached to an eyepiece, it goes down into the eyepiece socket farther and could cause slight damage.

Edit

The Zhumell 1.25 Inch Variable Polarizing Telescope Filter #3 35-40% is made especially for lunar viewing. This filter improves contrast and brings out more details when viewing the moon. It works similar to a dimmer switch on an eyepiece, and it consists of two glass filters that rotate, allowing the amount of light transmission that gets through the filter to be adjusted.
