The Yamaha YMC-700 is the upper model of two neoHD media controllers offered by Yamaha which features WiFi and Ethernet connectivity. The YMC-700 not only allows you to enjoy all your AV sources with high quality but also features an easy on screen operation GUI (graphical user interface) and simplified remote control that allows you to control all your AV devices.  It has 3 HDMI inputs and 1 output with HDMI video upconversion from other inputs, including component and composite inputs and has outputs for a 5.1 speaker system.  The built in Rhapsody Technology gives you access to the Rhapsody digital music service that lets you listen to whatever music you want for a small monthly fee.  This system is DLNA certified which ensures it has been tested and proven compatible with various CE, PC and mobile devices designed according to the DLNA Interoperability Guidelines. The Yamaha YMC-700 is available in black as the YMC-700BL and in silver as the YMC-700SL.

There is a built in USB port and the compressed music enhancer improves the sound of MP3 and WMA files while the YPAO Automatic System Calibration automatically checks speaker connections and automatically adjusts the sound output to match your room and speaker characteristics using the included microphone. It is compatible with many audio formats, including Dolby TrueHD, DTS 5.1 surround sound, and the CINEMA DSP digital decoding circuitry performs Dolby Pro Logic IIx, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital EX, DTS Digital Surround, DTS-ES (DTS-ES Matrix 6.1 and DTS-ES Discrete 6.1), DTS Neo:6 and DTS 96/24 decoding with extreme accuracy, as well as all digital sound field processing.

I saw a demo of this product.

Probably the most impressive Demo for an AV product I have seen in years.

I would imagine setting this thing up would take a little bit of time, but no more then any other reciever... possibly less?

But programming that remote was shown too... that itself made this seem all the more practical.
It is like Learning remote, but with a GUI and there is no need to do the point an shoot the remotes at each other all the time. and you can change the buttons at any giving time... Quite amazing.

You will note in reviews that there is no mention of Power... and while they didn't say anything about in the demo either... I'd have to say there were no issues in sound that we heard whatsoever, in fact it sounded pretty damn good...mind you, it was hooked up to a Beautiful Sub.

I did find a review that talked about the power a little though,

If this thing interests you in the slightest, you should check it before considering anything else. Seriously.
Not that there is any one thing else like it, i mean you could put something together that functions like it, but that would likely cost just as much and would consist of 2-3 components...and then there is the remote thing again.

Ask the sales guy to demo it for you. I promise you, you will question whether it is over priced or not.

Now if only I can Get this kind of functionality in an RX-Z
