Edit

The Yamaha YSTM8 is a full range, 5 watts/channel powered monitor speaker set that was released in 2001.  It has dual stereo inputs.  That means that the sound card can be plugged into one input and a portable media device (CD player, radio, cassette) into the other.  This is great for computer games which have boring background music.  The speakers themselves have spruce speaker cones, the same material used to make piano sound boards.  The Yamaha YSTM8 speaker set has a subwoofter output jack which allows the system to be expanded upon as well as a headphone output jack.  It has magnetic shielding to keep the speakers from interfereing with monitors or other computer equipment.  Since the speaker set was released in 2001 it may be difficult to find new, but probably can be found used and for a cheaper price.
