The Yamaha PSR-S550B is a 61-key digital workstation keyboard, initially released in September of 2008. While the PSR-S550B is considered an entry-level product, it does offer more advanced features like USB MIDI, storage, 16-track support and full XG compatibility. According to Yamaha, the keyboard includes a total of 294 instrument voices, 480 GM/XG voices and 22 drum/SFX kits. An LCD display is built-in, allowing musicians to view song scores from internal memory. Alternatively, owners can transfer digital sheet music from a USB flash drive to the workstation itself. The upgraded PSR-S700 model includes Internet Direct Connect support for on demand music downloading, a larger display and a greater library of effects.
