Edit

The Western Digital My Book Live is a mid-cost network storage device. This storage device allows file access at 100Mbps, which is three times the speed of standard USB 2.0 units. The DLNA-compatible media server of the My Book Live allows you to stream photos, music and video through devices such as your Blu-Ray player, XBox 360, and Playstation 3 (among others). The My Book Live can be used as an iTunes music server, meaning you can store and play your iTunes content on it (through one of the aforementioned external devices). When you plug the drive into your router, any PC or Mac on your wired or wireless network can access the data you have stored on the My Book Live. WD Smartware automatically backs up anything you save on your computer, so that you do not have to worry about making a special effort to back things up. The Western Digital My Book Live comes in a 1TB ($169.99) and 2TB ($229.99) version.
