Poor zoom performance--digital zoom only, photos become grainy at even the lowest zoom setting.

Grainy, blurry image quality in all but the most favourable of conditions.

Poor menu layout--basic menu navigation and finding specific options is more of a hassle than it should be.

Edit

The Vivitar Vivicam 5028 is one of 11 budget-friendly, entry-level compact digital cameras from Vivitar. The Vivicam 5188 is a duplicate of the 5028, except that it comes with a convenient waterproof care for using it while underwater. Everything else remains the same, including it ability to record VGA footage at 30fps, capture medium-quality JPEGS, and automatically detect faces & smiles. Users have noted that the video quality and digital zoom capabilities aren’t the best, as there is a tendency for blurring. However, it does function perfectly fine under water—making it one of the most budget-friendly underwater units in the market.
