The Vivitar V8400P model is a mid-grade underwater camera designed to provide cheaper offerings to people of all ages. It was first introduced at the 2009 CES event in Las Vegas. The new lineup of Vivitar products including the related cameras/ camcorders (DVR840XHD, V8025) are slated for a spring 2009 release. The V8400P model is an 8 megapixel high resolution camera; fully equipped with a 2.4 inch LCD screen. The device is specifically designed for underwater, adversely meaning that it is waterproof and completely safe at depths up to 30 feet. The lens includes image stabilization support (it keeps the camera steady from the normal shaking patterns and movements of the human body) and an 8x digital zoom. The V8400P uses the integrated 32mb internal storage capacity and also includes an SD memory card slot for additional storage with full support for capacities up to 8GB. The Vivitar V8400P includes additional features such as a shockproof and drop-resistant body style, a full length video capture mode and a low retail price of $129.95.
