Assassin's Creed 2 is a sandbox-style, action-adventure video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft on November 17th of 2009 for Microsoft Windows, Playstation 3, Playstation Portable, and Xbox 360. A sequel to Assassin’s Creed, Assassin’s Creed 2 is based on 15th century Renaissance Italy, and is centered around three primary districts: Venice, Florence, and Tuscany. Players assume the role of a young nobleman named Ezio Auditore di Firenze (Ancestor of Desmond Miles), who takes revenge for the murder of his family by becoming an assassin. Users fight with dual hidden blades, use firearms, swim across canals, drag guards into the water (assassination), and even later access da Vinci’s flying machine.
New weapons (versus the original Assassin’s Creed) include an axe, a hammer, a pistol, a mace, a spear, two types of swords, a halberd, and two hidden blades (mentioned earlier). And the combat system is much enhanced, requiring the user to stab people, dodge arrows, and escape the wrath of ‘Seekers’.
