Edit

The TRENDnet TEG-S80g is an entry-level, 8-port Gigabit switch designed to provide fast Internet connections, while reducing power consumption by 70%. It is an immediate predecessor to the TEG-S80Dg that was announced at CES2010. It utilizes a deprecated version of GREENnet technology that reduces average power consumption to 5W, which is approximately 1.04W more than its superior sibling. It does, however, maintain 8 Gigabit ports, a switching capacity of 16Gbps, and a Data RAM Buffer of 128Kbytes. Plus the unit also supports Jumbo Frames up to 9216bytes; IEEE 802.3x Flow Control for full-duplex mode; Plug & Play compatibility, and diagnostic LEDs.
