The TP-Link TL-WA500G is a wireless router designed to operate in a number of different roles. This is similar to the TP-Link TL-WA501G, but uses a more basic set of encryption standards. It uses eXtended Range technology to provide service at a range up to 4 times more distant than traditional 802.11g wireless products, which has been leveraged into a variety of applications. In standard AP mode the router operates as a typical network appliance, managing an Internet connection between multiple devices. In AP Client mode a device that doesn't have wireless access can be connected to one of the Ethernet ports, and the device acts like a wireless network card. The repeater mode extends the range of other devices without performing any routing duties, and a Wireless bridge mode is also available for connecting hard-to-wire places. Standard WPA and WPA2 encryptions are available for security.
