Toshiba has created a sleek laptop that quickly turns itself into a tablet PC by swiveling its screen using the double hinge. Most notably, other than the tablet/laptop convertibility, the Portégé R400 has a 12.1" LED screen, features EVDO wireless Internet connectivity, and includes Toshiba's EDGE display system. EDGE is a tiny secondary display on the front of the laptop that provides you with calendar and inbox activity whether or not your laptop is powered on.

Initial reviews have pointed out that the R400 is perhaps underpowered to run the included Windows Vista, and that it is overpriced. There are four packages available that will run you between $2600-$3500. For this, you will get a 1.2 GHz Intel Centrino Core Duo, 2 GB of RAM, and a 80 GB hard drive.

I have a Protege but it's not as cool as this! I love my Toshiba though...it's given me some problems a few times, but other than that, it's pretty durable.
