The Toshiba AC100 is a slimline netbook computer which runs Google's Android operating system, and takes less than a second to switch on from standby mode. At the AC100's core is Nvidia's Tegra 250 chip which is capable of 1080p video playback and has a low battery consumption, giving the netbook 7-8 hours battery life when used intensively and allows it to stay in standby mode for up to seven days.

In the netbook range of computers portability and battery life are key features, and in this sense the AC-100 is amongst the top of it's class. The slimline form factor (262mm x 190mm x 14 / 21mm ) means the Toshiba weighs in at only 0.87Kg. Perhaps the most defining feature of the AC-100 is that it runs Google's Android operating system (2.1 Eclair) , the first Toshiba netbook to do so. Although the operating system will be unfamiliar to regular windows users it promises to deliver faster access to important programs such as web browsers and word processors.
