The TiVo R24008A is an 80-hour, digital video recorder (DVR) unit released in 2003, but still selling due to its affordable price and large hard-drive. Despite its sleek demeanor (15x11.5x3"), this DVR unit in fact houses a large 80GB hard drive for recording up to 80 hours of video content. In addition, the R24008A hosts a variety of inputs/outputs, allowing it to be connected to a local home network, as well as televisions, VCR units, DVD players, TV antennas, a cable system, or even a home satellite system. With the purchase of a TiVo subscription, users are also afforded optional access to advanced features such as multimedia playback (music, digital photos), multi-room viewing, and also a Season Pass. Additional features of the TiVo R24008A DVR include remote scheduling (via Web), pausing and rewinding live television, and instant replay. The TiVo R24008A retails for $299.99 (MSRP) and comes with either a limited 1 year (new) or 30-day (refurbished) warranty.
