It's now easier than ever to achieve an optimal fit for your horse with Wintec. The revolutionary systems within Wintec Saddles offer the highest flexibility for achieving an optimal fit and the ultimate performance for your horse. Together the EASY-CHANGE Gullet System and EASY-CHANGE Riser System offer unparalleled scope of adjustment for a total fitting solution in selecting optimal tree width and achieving perfect saddle balance for your horse's absolute comfort and your peace of mind.

We recommend riders check the fit of their saddles after 3 months and then every 6 months throughout their saddles life, to ensure the saddle continues to fit correctly as the horse changes shape according to its level of fitness.
Wintec recommend that a qualified saddle fitter is consulted when buying and fitting a new saddle.
Official Fit Disclaimer
The innovative systems in our saddles offer unsurpassed flexibility in achieving an optimal fit, however, no one saddle can claim to fit every horse. It is always recommended you seek ongoing professional advice on the fit, and in meeting the unique needs of each horse/rider combination.
Always use a girth with roller buckles on Wintec saddles with synthetic girth points to prevent the points being cut by cheap metal buckles. We recommend using the Wintec Elastic Girth, it is easy to clean, has stainless steel roller buckles and helps to prevent girth galling.
Wintec Saddles can be ridden with synthetic stirrup leathers, leather stirrup leathers and webbers. Oily leather stirrup leathers may leave a grease spot on the saddle but this can be removed by following the saddle's cleaning instructions.
Synthetic stirrup leathers may have a tendency to squeak when ridden against Equileather material. If this occurs apply some Effax Combi to the area. Effax Combi is available from all good saddlery stores.
Webbers are a great alternative for riders wanting to remove the lump of the stirrup leather from under their thigh. Webbers reduce this lump from two thicknesses of material and a buckle down to a single loop of material. The benefit of Webbers is enhanced by recessed stirrup bars found on all Wintec saddles and is of particular value to dressage riders.
We recommend the use of a saddle cloth with all Wintec saddles. However, this is not essential and riding without using your saddle cloth will not in any way harm or damage the saddle.
The nylon webbing used to attach the girth points onto Wintec's saddle tree is of the same quality as the webbing used in car seat belts.
Synthetic points are made from a heavy nylon webbing encased in durable synthetic covering and are featured on the Wintec 500 range of saddles. Use of a roller buckle girth will prolong the life of synthetic girth points.
Leather girth points are made using pure aniline dyed leather from the finest hand selected European hides prestretched for longer durability and heavily waxed to seal the leather off from water or moisture. The Wintec Pro and 2000 All Purpose, Wintec Pro Dressage, Pro Dressage with Contourbloc, Pro Pony Dressage, Wintec Isabell and Wintec Pro Jump and Pro Close Contact models have leather girth points.
CLEANING instrcutions
Wintec Saddle Cleaner is a scientifically formulated solution that ensures your synthetic saddle and mounts continue to look like new. Dirt, mud, sweat, even stubborn stains are effortlessly removed.
Wintec Saddle Cleaner is an environmentally friendly low foaming formulation.
Wet the surface of the saddle.
Apply the solution in an even spray.
With a damp cloth wipe over the saddle in circular motions.
For stubborn stains, or equisuede, use a small stiff bristled brush to lift the dirt.
Rinse the saddle with water and allow to dry out of direct sunlight.
The Wintec range of saddles require no oiling or waxing.
Equileather sections are essentially maintenance free and can be hosed down or wiped clean. To clean hi-grip sections featured on the Wintec 2000 and Pro saddles use a damp cloth and water or for more aggressive cleaning use Wintec Saddle Cleaner.
The nap of equisuede will not ride down however it is likely to rub smooth owing to the dirt and dust being embedded into the equisuede fibre of the material. The nap of the equisuede can be restored by cleaning it using Wintec Saddle Cleaner and scrubbing it with a stiff brush, such as a fingernail brush.
All Wintec saddles should be dried out of direct sunlight and heat or solvents should not be applied to the materials.
Leather girth points should be cleaned with saddle soap and dressed with a good quality wax based leather cream. Do not use an oil or greasy dressing as this will over soften the leather and cause the girth points to stretch.
Synthetic girth points require no maintenance and should not be dressed with oil or wax.
Wintec saddles are considerably lighter than leather saddles making them easier to carry and more comfortable for your horse.
Wintec saddles are great in all weather conditions as synthetic materials are quick drying and easy to clean. Wintec saddles give you greater freedom, as they are an ideal alternative for use in conditions, which would otherwise damage a leather saddle.
Wintec saddles are very hardwearing and are covered by a warranty for one year against faulty materials, or workmanship. Furthermore the Elastiflex Saddle Tree is warranted against breakage for the lifetime of the saddle. Warranties on Wintec Saddles are subject to use under normal conditions and provided care instructions are followed.
All materials used in Wintec saddles are subject to a series of laboratory tests and are evaluated against a stringent set of specifications during their manufacture and supply. Tests are conducted for abrasion resistance using proven "Taber Testing" equipment, UV resistance and dye ratings. Laminated materials are also tested for peel strengths, tensile and tear strengths. Testing results are written into material specifications, which are provided to all material suppliers for Wintec products. Random audits are conducted on materials to check their consistency and quality against specifications and ensure quality standards for Wintec products are met at all times.
The Elastiflex tree achieves optimal levels of strength and flexibility throughout. Whilst being incredibly strong and durable for horse and rider the tree is also super-thin and flexible to allow full spring tree performance facilitating excellent communication between horse and rider.
Wintec's elastiflex tree has been designed to be rigid in the head and strong along the line following the horse's spine whilst having lateral flex across the horse's back.
The stiffness in the tree along the horse's spine is important as it distributes the rider’s weight evenly. If a tree is too flexible along the horse's spine the weight will bear down on the horse's back causing injury.
The tree in Wintec Saddles is covered by a warranty for the lifetime of the saddle, under normal riding usage conditions, deemed to be 10 years.
A Spring Steel Gullet ensures the head of the saddle stays completely rigid whilst allowing the seat flexibility. The Gullet is heat tempered in order to set the shape of the head of the saddle and guarantee the tree will never spread throughout the saddle's lifetime.
NB. Only gullet plates stamped with genuine EASY-CHANGE are accredited for use in Wintec Saddles.
Wide Chamber, Broad Bearing Area, Flexible Tree Points
Flexible tree points combined with a wide chamber at the head of the saddle allow your horse's shoulders to move freely without any pressure or pinching. In addition the wide chamber throughout the length of the saddle distributes your weight across the broad area of your horse's back muscles preventing any pressure to either side of the backbone.
The stainless steel Ergonomic Stirrup Bar removes at least one thickness of leather from under your thigh, ensuring even closer contact and maximizing your comfort. The unique shaping offers secure attachment of your stirrup leather, while enabling the leather to come free if required during a fall. Select Wintec dressage models feature a recessed channel to the stirrup keeper, further eliminating interference with your leg for a closer feel of the horse and increased comfort.
Super Enduro seat foam, is specially moulded to shape as opposed to being cut from thin sheet foam. This alternative method of manufacture enables the seat foam to be up to 1 and 1/2 inches thick.
Enduro seat foam has a high resilience and will not ride down throughout the lifetime of the saddle, ensuring permanent comfort and shock-absorption. In addition to this the foam is open celled allowing for better heat dissipation and breatheability.
A moveable bloc under the flap allows the rider to individually tailor their thigh and knee support increasing comfort and enhancing the rider's performance.
Flexiblocs are available for select Wintec models across all disciplines
Real Male and Female Velcro® is used in Wintec saddles as opposed to brush nylon in order to achieve much stronger grip, durability and permeability.
Velcro® is used in the head of the saddle to support the EASY-CHANGE Gullet System and under the flap of the saddle to make the flexiblocs adjustable.
All Wintec saddles are numbered, ensuring traceability and security in the case of theft. A registration number can be found on either on a care label that is attached to the panel of the saddle near the girth points on older Wintec models or the number is stamped on the underside of the underflap on the near side.
