Kids won't get pinched in this plastic sandbox, even though it's designed to look like a big crab.

Edit

This sandbox with rounded shape takes up a space that measures 4 by 4 feet (and the inside space measures just over 3 by 3 feet), and it holds up to 300 pounds of play sand. Both the box and the matching sculpted lid (or shell) are molded from single pieces of red plastic. At the front, the big tucked-in claws frame two crabbily prominent white eyes. There's no drain hole, so be sure to put on that shell when it rains.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How big is the play area were the sand goes

I would say about 3ft by 3ft. Hard to be exact... Gave it as a gift a year ago.

  • Does the lid blow off in high wind or does it snap on? Thank You

Does not snap on tightly. I put a cinder block on top when closed. We live near the beach and there are always winds.

  • How tall is the sand part without the lid?

The depth without the lid is about 12", plus and the lid is domed. I will say with whole lot of effort, (lid upside down in the sand box), it got wiggled into the back seat of my Toyota Cor. My grand daughter loves and has used it a play pool and sand box.
