The KDL-40XBR4 is a 40" LCD based television with a 1080p native resolution. The XBR4 line is part of the 2007 lineup of Sony's LCD based HDTVs, and is successor to the XBR2 series. Within Sony's lineup the XBR4's are at the highest end, above the W3000 series. For their highest-end line Sony retains all the features of the W3000s, including: 1080p native resolution, 10-bit processing and display, 24p support, and xvColor support. On top of these standards, Sony adds even more premium features to justify the upgrade in price. Notable among these new features are the 120Hz mode, the Bravia Pro Engine, and a special attention to the set's casing with the floating glass design and removeable bezels.
