Edit

The L4000 Series from Sony represents their least expensive entry level line of LCD televisions featuring a native 720p resolution. Intended for consumers that want a "Sony" without paying too much of the Sony premium, the L4000s shed away most of the features found in the more expensive models offering a core HDTV. The step-up above the L4000 Series is the M4000 series which features the same 720p native resolution, and adds the Bravia Processing Engine, and a dynamic backlight.

Specs
  • 720p native resolution
  • 2,000:1 contrast ratio
  • 8 ms response time
  • Two 10 watt speakers
  • Inputs: HDMIx2, Componentx2, Composite x 1, S-Video x 1, VGA x 1

Note: while higher end Sony televisions can accept a 1080p signal over the component input, the L4000 is limited to the HDMI port. Internally the television converts the 1080p signal to its lower native resolution.

The naming convention of the L4000 series takes the form of: Sony Bravia KDL-xxL4000
