The Sony BRAVIA KDL-52XBR3 is a 52-inch LCD HDTV released in 2006. This television supports Full HD at a resolution of 1080p. The digital image processor used in this set is known as the DRC-MFv2.5, the chip behind the “Bravia Engine” technology employed by Sony. This feature is most commonly used when upconverting a standard DVD to the full resolution of the KDL-52XBR3. Other image quality related features include the “Advanced Contrast Enhancer,” which dynamically adjusts the contrast ratio up to 7000:1. For those who watch movies, blacks will appear blacker and more detail will be visible in shadows. The built-in NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuner allows for over-the-air HD content to be viewed on this set. In terms of high-def inputs, 3 HDMI, 2 Component and 1 PC (D-Sub) terminals are available.
