The Sony BRAVIA KDL-40EX500 is one of five CCFL backlit LCD HDTVs announced in 2010 as part of the KDL-EX500 Series. Although priced the same as KDL-EX600 models, the KDL-40EX500 and its peers differ in that they utilize Motionflow 120Hz Technology, allowing for smoother transitions and onscreen movement. The KDL-40EX500 features the BRAVIA 2 Engine for superior quality visuals, an ambient sensor for automatic color adjustments based on lighting conditions, and full 1080p high-definition resolution. Like its peers, the unit hosts a slew of HDMI ports (4 HDMI + 2 HDMI Component + 1 HDMI PC) and a USB interface for photo, music, and video playback from any USB-enabled device.
