The Sony SAT-HD300 was an early HD DirecTV satellite receiver. It is mostly similar to its predecessor, the SAT-HD200. It supports 480i/480p, 720p, and 1080i video, and features DVI and component outputs for HD content. Optical digital audio connectivity enables Dolby Digital surround sound support. The receiver adds a VCR control interface for scheduling recordings, as well as more advanced aspect ratio options. The built-in program guide, overlaid on the picture of the current channel, allows users to search for shows by keyword and view listings up to 7 days in advance.
