The VPCF12FFX is a mid-range, 16.4" entertainment notebook computer. The laptop utilizes a quad-core Intel Core i7 processor which can be dramatically overclocked from 1.73 to 2.93 GHz, and 4 GB of DDR3 RAM. It adds entry-level discrete graphics, hoping to appeal to casual gamers. A Blu-ray drive and HDMI output allow the notebook to play HD movies as part of a home theater setup, while Dolby Home Theater audio and a 1080p resolution enable a superior movie-watching experience on the notebook itself. Bluetooth and wireless-n are standard, but the VPCF12FFX is not highly portable, weighing over 6 lbs. Despite only 3 hours of battery life with a standard-capacity battery, the VPCF12FFX qualifies for Energy Star.
