The Sony Ericsson P990 is a mid-range smartphone enabled for the 3G network. It has a large, 2.7" touchscreen with stylus and handwriting recognition, and it has a folding keypad that, when unfolded, becomes a full QWERTY keypad, but when folded is a standard touch-tone keypad. It uses the Symbian 9.1 operating system and has a 208MHz processor. It has a media player as well as an FM radio receiver, and uses the Opera 8.0 HTML Internet browser. It is also Wi-Fi connective, has Bluetooth wireless, and email account synchronization. It features a 2.0-megapixel digital camera with autofocus and LED flash, as well as video capture and a secondary VGA videocalling camera. Its internal memory 60MB, and uses M2 memory sticks to expand. It includes one 64MB stick. Expected battery life is around 9 hours of talk time per charge. There are two versions of the P990, the P990c, released in mainland China and featuring Chinese character input, and the P990i, released in Europe.
