Another entry from Sony’s BRAVIA line, the DAV-HDx277WC sheds some of the features of others in the line for a focus on optimizing multi-room listening capability. The player can support up to four of Sony’s S-AIR wireless units for plug-and-play listening without any set-up. Unlike other offerings from the DAV-HDX line, the 277WC does not feature wireless rear speakers for its 5.1 audio, but it does support the feature with an optional Wireless Surround Speaker Kit ($149.99 direct from Sony). This player, does; however, like the others, feature a 1080p upscaling 5-CD/DVD changer with HDMI output, BRAVIA Sync for optimization with Sony BRAVIA HDTVs, and Sony’s for digital media management and iPod cradle.

Features
  • Supports up to four S-AIR wireless speakers for multi-room listening
  • Upconverting 5-CD/DVD changer with HDMI output
  • Automatically calibrates audio to optimize sound quality
  • BRAVIA Sync feature beneficial for owners of Sony BRAVIA HDTVs
