Edit

The Sony MDR-E9LP is a low-cost set of in-ear headphones. This model lacks two features of the slightly higher cost MDR-ED12LP headphones, the next offering in Sony's Fontopia line-up: the MDR-ED12LP's distinct protruding earpiece shape, and its 16mm driver, both of which contribute to a boosted bass. Though it is smaller than the MDR-ED12LP, the 13.5mm driver of the MDR-E9LP is still larger and bassier than traditional 9mm in-ear headphone drivers. The 300 kJ/m3 neodymium magnets contribute to the bass, and also help to make the treble come through clearly. The PET diaphragm keeps distortion down on all frequencies. To help ensure comfortable listening, the Sony MDR-E9LP in-ear headphones come with a pair of soft earpads.
