The Sony MDR-DS3000 is a high-end infrared wireless headphone set that is designed to provide a comfortable form of mobility. "Enter a world without wires" with these "unique open-air" headphones that produce "superb sound, comfortable mobility, and make the perfect addition to any home theatre". With the headphones comes an infrared wireless transmitter outfitted with Sony's VPT (Virtual Phones Technology) with an advanced level 125MIPS (125 million instructions per second) Logic 3D Processor. The MDR-DS3000 headphones also include additional features such as an optical digital input, gold plated connectors including an analog input, 64x oversampling for high precision, 35µm Copper Board Traces which are double the thickness compared to conventional designs for higher conductivity, Neodymium Magnets, a built In Dolby Pro Logic II Decoder, and up to a 23 foot transmission range. The Sony MDR-DS3000 wireless headphones were released on December 19, 2005 and have an MSRP of $229.99, which is listed on the official Sony website.
