The Sony Handycam DCR-DVD850 is a standard definition DVD camcorder from Sony's 2009 lineup and is a step up from the DCR-DVD810.  The camcorder features 16GB of embedded flash memory that can store up to 11 hours of high definition footage.  The addition of the flash memory allows it to provide Hybrid Plus movie recording to either the flash memory, DVD, or Memory Stick Duo media for increased flexibility.  The DCR-DVD850 includes a professional Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar zoom lens for 60x optical and 2000x digital zoom and utilizes Sony's SteadyShot image stabilization to reduce blur.  It is designed with a 2.7" touch LCD screen that rotates up to 270 degrees for multiple viewing angles and has a 1/8" advanced HAD CCD imager for crisp video and still images.  The camcorder also utilizes Dolby Digital 5.1 channel recording and has a built-in zoom microphone to add realistic sound to the footage.  The DCR-DVD850 differs from it's predecessor, the DCR-DVD810, since it has a more powerful zoom lens and double the amount of flash memory.
