The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W80 is a mid-range 7.2 megapixel digital camera similar to the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55. The W80 features a number of improvements over the W55, primarily an enhanced dual-system (SteadyShot, high sensitivity ISO 3200) anti-blur solution, an HD output, in-camera retouching and red-eye reduction and D-Range optimization. Otherwise, the W80 does share the W55's 7.2 MP Super Hole Accumulated Diode CCD sensor, Carl Zeiss 3X Optical zoom lens and 2.5" LCD screen.
The DSC-W80's SteadyShot image stabilization and high sensitivity mode work together to compensate for shaky hands, minimize blur, brighten images and allow flash-free shooting in low lighting conditions. Its in-camera retouching ensures that each photo taken will be perfect before it even reaches a computer, as a variety of filters allow for on-the-go image enhancing. Additionally, the DSC-W80's D-Range optimization allows for a greater range of contrast for greater detail in darker areas.
