The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W230 is an ultra-thin digital camera released by Sony in April, 2009. A precursor to the DSC-W290, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W230 sports an ultra-compact thin body with a 3” LCD display and a 4x / 12.1 megapixels Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar optical zoom lens. What differentiates the affordable DSC-W230 from its competitors is its inclusion of an iSCN (Intelligent Scene Recognition) feature that detects up to five scene conditions. Plus, the DSC-W230 sports face detection with child/adult priority and an Optical SteadyShot image stabilizer for reduced blurring. In addition to rendering top-quality images, the DSC-W230 records movies at 640x480 (30fps) with a regular MPEG codec. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W230 retails for $199.95 and comes with a 90 day limited warranty.
