Edit

The Sony Alpha A290 is an entry-level DSLR. This is the replacement for the A230, with the major difference being an improved sensor. The Sony A290 uses an APS-C 14.2 megapixel sensor and BIONZ image processor to capture large, high resolution images. The sensor is capable of handling lighting conditions of up to ISO3200 as well.

Apart from these features, many of the original A230 design elements are continued here. It has a 2.7 inch LCD screen, 2.5 fps continuous shooting, and a basic user interface with easy to understand icons for different settings. This camera comes bundled with a 18-55mm lens.
