The SMC Barricade SMCWBR14S-N4 is an entry-level 802.11n network router. This product features 150Mbps wireless connectivity over a single antenna, and four 10/100Mbps Ethernet LAN ports. This router is similar to SMC’s SMCWBR14S-N3, a step up with 300Mbps of wireless n connectivity and a dual antenna configuration. For novice users, SMC has integrated WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) to setup a secured wireless network with the touch of a button. Other features found on this router include a NAT firewall with SPI, web-based configuration and support for the latest WPA/WPA2 wireless encryption standards. Advanced users will likely appreciate built-in dynamic DNS, virtual server and a variety of access control mechanisms. Unlike most higher-end routers, features such as QoS and multiple pass-through VPN technologies are not supported.
