The Singer 2273 Esteem II is a basic sewing machine built for simple jobs. This is similar to the Singer 2263, with the same general design and feature set. The only difference is in the automatic buttonhole feature, which is now a 1-step process rather than 4-step. Apart from this they are the same, with a class 15 bobbin and heavy duty metal frame to avoid skipped stitches. The automatic needle threader makes setup and operation as faster, and a free arm is used to enable stitching of thicker materials. In addition to the 23 stitch patterns built in, both the stitch length and width can be adjusted to fit the individual situation. A wide range of accessories come with the machine, including a screwdriver for making adjustments and a foot pedal.

Another difference is that the 2263 tapers the zig-zag from the left. The 2273 tapers from the center.
