Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are the construction materials for all three of the major pieces, including the top, the front panel, and the rear soap container.

The metal parts appear to me to be real metal - those parts are not magnetic so probably aluminum or stainless steal. I think the reservoir is thick acrylic. The lid to the reservoir has a rubber throat seal attached to seal the soap in and the up-down switch adjusts the amount of soap to be dispensed. From my experience with Simple Human products they are mostly metal and typically high quality and durable. It matches completely our stainless steel appliances and accessories - we are pleased with it.

  • Is the battery compartment waterproof and suitable to place inside a shower?

Based on my experience with these units, I would not advise using them anywhere but on a counter or vanity next to a sink. They are not advertised as waterproof and I am sure would not hold up in a wet situation such as a tub or shower. They are really designed to hold liquid hand soap only - doubt if they would work very well with shower soaps or gels. Hope this helps, Scott!

  • Does any liquid DISH soap work or do you have to use recommended brands?

I use Dawn dish washing soap and it works for a perfect.
