The Shimano Stradic 8000 FI is a mid-cost spinning reel. The Stradic line is engineered with Shimano's S Concept, which emphasizes a smooth, silent, strong reel design. On the strength side, the Paladin Gear Durability Enhancement system consists of a cold forged aluminum drive gear and a hardened brass pinion gear. This design helps the reel to keep its new feel for as long as possible. Another feature geared toward durability is the S A-RB Ball Bearings, which are stainless steel. These bearings are treated to be anti-rust, and are ten times more corrosion resistant that traditional stainless steel ball bearings. In terms of a smooth operation, the Aero Wrap II Oscillation system provides a uniform line lay, which prevents energy loss during casting, for more distance with less effort. These features are all shared throughout the Stradic FI line of spinning reels, which differ from each other in terms of inches of line retrieve per crank, line capacity, weight and pounds of maximum drag.
