The Shimano Stradic 5000 FI is a mid-cost spinning reel. As is the case with all of Shimano's spinning reel lines, the Stradic 5000 FI differs from the rest of the Stradic line only in terms of its inches of line retrieve per crank, weight, line capacity, and pounds of maximum drag. Features shared throughout the Stradic line include Paladin Gear Durability Enhancement, which utilizes a cold forged aluminum drive gear and a hardened brass pinion gear to keep this reel working like new for as long as possible. Another feature geared toward durability is the A-RB bearing system. These ball bearings are stainless steel, and have been through a treatment process that makes them ten times more corrosion resistant than standard stainless steel ball bearings. As far as features geared toward easy operation, the Shimano Stradic 5000 FI's Aero Wrap II oscillation system provides a uniform line lay to prevent loss of energy during your cast, so that you have longer casts with less effort.
