The Shimano Sonora 4000 FB is a low-cost spinning reel. This reel is equipped with a cold forged aluminum spool, which is geared toward strength and durability. The Dyna-Balance feature of the 4000 FB eliminates wobble during retrieve. This is achieved by counter balancing the rotor to enhance sensitivity and smoothness. This reel's Super Stopper II feature uses a one-way bearing to eliminate backplay. The 4000 FB is equipped with the Propulsion Line Management System, which features a spool lip design that helps to increase casting distance and cut friction. This model differs from the closely related 2500 FB model in that it has thirty-three inches of line retrieve per drag (as opposed to thirty-two inches), has a higher line capacity (8/240, 10/200, 12/160 as opposed to 6/200, 8/140, 10/120) and power pro line capacity (15/265, 30/175, 50/145 as opposed to 10/170, 15/145, 30/95), has twenty pounds of maximum drag (as opposed to only fifteen), has a lower gear ratio (5.7:1 as opposed to 6.2:1), and weighs more (12.4oz. as opposed to 9.4oz.). The Shimano Sonora 4000 FB spinning reel is created with Shimano's S Concept, which emphasizes smooth, silent operation, as well as a durable construction.
