Edit

The Shimano Sedona 4000 FD is a lower mid-cost spinning fishing reel. The rubber handle grips of this reel make it easy to hold on to. The Sedona 4000 FD's Propulsion Line Management System features a spool lip design, and offers longer casting distances, while preventing backlash. This design also helps you cut down on line twist. This reel has a cold forged aluminum spool, which helps to make it durable. The Sedona 4000 FD's frame, sideplate and rotor are all comprised of graphite, a design geared toward keeping the weight of this reel down. This reel's Dyna-Balance construction contributes to a comfortable feel. This model differs from the closely related Sedona 2500 FD model in that the 2500 FD has only thirty-two inches of line retrieve per crank (while the Sedona 4000 FD has thirty-three), has a lower maximum drag (fifteen pounds as oppose to the Sedona 4000 FD's twenty pounds), has different gear ratio (6.2:1 as opposed to the Sedona 4000 FD's 5.7:1), and is lighter (9.5 ounces as opposed to the Sedona 4000 FD's 12.5 ounces). The Shimano Sedona 4000 FD spinning reel is approved for use in saltwater.
