The Sharp BD-HP80U is one of two 3D network Blu-ray disc players (BD-HP80U, BD-HP90U) released in September 2010. Both units are Sharp’s first-ever 3D BD players. In particular, the BD-HP80U is the weaker of the two, though it does still offers a plethora of streaming options including DivX, AVCHD, Netflex, Pandora, and VUDU from a Blu-ray disc, a CD/DVD, or the Internet. Plus it also supports 3D Blu-ray playback at a 1080p/24fps resolution. According to reports, neither unit comes with an integrated WiFi card, but each is Wireless LAN Ready—presumably via a USB adapter. Also included is Dolby TrueHD decoding with support for 7.1-channel audio.
