The Set 830 S is an assistive learning system from Sennheiser that offers an alternative to the other models in the company's Set product line. Using advanced infra-red technology, this model can connect wirelessly to a TV, audio receiver or radio device to re-broadcast audio through its lightweight stereo headset. Designed specifically for the hearing impaired, the unit can be attached directly to an existing hearing aid via a 3.5-milimeter stereo jack for full input customization. Three selectable hearing settings are available based on content type (musical, spoken word, hybrid), with level adjustment controlled via a large ergonomic dial on the front of the unit. The inclusion of a rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to 12 hours of wireless usage on a single charge, with up to 12 meters of mobility available at full signal strength. All control adjustments are registered and displayed via a set of LEDs, providing visual confirmation of current settings to minimize confusion. In addition, the transmitter unit of the 830 S contains a separate charging compartment for a second battery, enabling users to switch back and forth for consistent device access.
