The Set 50 TV is an assistive listening system from Sennheiser that offers an alternative to the other models in the company's Set series. Incorporating a lightweight headset peripheral that works in conjunction with a charger/transmission unit, this model uses infra-red technology to stream audio signals from a television set, audio receiver or radio device. Hearing-impaired users are given direct control over levelling and signal adjustment, with individual volume adjustment for each ear in case of varying ear damage. Audio content can transmit up to 12 meters away from the base unit at full signal strength, with 9 hours of operation available on a single battery charge. An additional "Accupack" battery is included that can be stored in a dedicated charging compartment while the primary battery is in use, enabling non-stop transmission for extended listening applications. Two extra sets of ear cushions are included for long-lasing usability, while a variety of optional accesories are available that include an Electret microphone and a specialized SCART television adapter.
