Sennheiser MX 271s are low-end earbud style headphones very similar to Sennheiser MX 270s. Nearly identical to the MX 270s, the MX 271s merely feature a smaller form factor better suited to women or those with smaller ear canals. Otherwise, both the MX 270s and MX 271s are identical, as both feature: a wide frequency dynamic driver system, optimization for iPod/MP3 player use and a 1.2m symmetrical cable design.

The MX 271s' dynamic driver system utilizes a ring-shaped permanent magnet and an oscillation coil in order to achieve the perfect balance of sound quality, size and cost-efficiency. Its lossy media format optimization means that the MX 271s perform best when used with MP3 players, iPods and other media devices that deal with common lossy media files. Additionally, the MX 271s' symmetrical cable design minimizes cord entanglement.
