Sonic and the Black Knight is a video game developed by Sonic Team Japan and released by Sega for the Nintendo Wii on March 12th, 2009. A title in the ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ series, Sonic and the Black Knight is in fact a sequel to ‘Sonic and the Secret Rings’ from the ‘Sonic Storybook’ series. Sonic and the Black Knight maintains its predecessor’s platforming and speed via primarily 3D gameplay, but also adds along swordplay via the Wii Remote. In addition, Sonic (BK) features a skill system based on being either a Knight, Cavalier, or Paladin. Depending on one’s choice, Sonic will function at a certain speed and power. Some skill-sets offer swords and boomerang attacks, whereas others feature ‘Chaos Powers’, lunge attacks, and fire. Sonic and the Black Knight offers both single-player and a multiplayer mode. In fact, up to four players can play at once. Sonic and the Black Knight retails for $39.99.
