The Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Net is a media sharing device, released in mid-2010. This product is essentially an internet-enabled hard drive dock designed for Seagate’s GoFlex portable drives and standard USB drives. Users can use the GoFlex Net to share photos, music and movies over the internet with friends and family through integrated Pogoplug technology. This means all you need is a web browser; no additional software is required. Files located on shared drives can be accessed anywhere in the world, allowing for users’ files to be copied, edited or transferred from any internet-enabled location. With dual slots, two drives can be kept in sync with each other for redundancy purposes if needed. Apple iPhone, Blackberry, and Android users can access their content on the go, including music and video via built-in streaming functionality. Seagate’s GoFlex TV HD media player is also compatible, allowing video streaming to an HDTV over a home network.
