The Schwinn Protocol 1.0 is a lower mid-cost dual suspension mountain Bike. Schwinn promotes the Protocol 1.0 as being able to ride over any terrain. Besides aiding in this bike's durability, the steel dual suspension frame provides a responsive ride. The Suntour suspension fork aids in responsiveness, and offers shock absorption for bumpy rides. The pair of triple derailleurs on this bike are designed specifically for mountain riding. This model is a step down from the higher cost Protocol 2.0 in that the Protocol 2.0 has twenty-four speeds instead of twenty-one, and has Promax disc brakes in both the front and rear, instead of just the front.
