The Sanyo Xacti DMX-GH1 (known as the VPC-GH1 in Europe) is one of two colorful, portable digital camcorders released in April 2010. Unlike the DMX-CG100, the DMX-GH1 hosts a more traditional albeit slightly less convenient horizontal orientation. However, it took features a 5x optical zoom lens, a 14.4MP image sensor, and a 2.7” LCD display. Both units are in fact identical, save for their design. And as well as taking high-resolution stills, the DMX-GH1 is also engineered to capture high-definition 1080p video content with the MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 codec and transmit it a USB drive, a SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card, or a compatible TV set. Included also is a Double Range Zoom feature that allows users to switch between two zoom ranges: Wide Mode (40mm to 240mm) and Tele Mode (80mm to 480mm), thereby changing the size of the video capture area on the image sensor.
