The Samsung UN40C6400 is one of three LED HDTVs (UN40C6400, UN46C6400, UN55C6400) from the 6400 Series released in early 2010. They each feature an ultra-slim (1.2” deep) design; Auto Motion Plus 120Hz refresh technology; and a mega contrast ratio of 4,000,000:1. The 40” UN40C6400 is the smallest in the series, but it too hosts full 1080p resolution and is built to handle both ATSC and Clear QAM signals, allowing users access to both standard- and high-definition video content from their cable providers, as well as DVD players, BD players, etc. Signature to the television is its connectivity, as it can work with a PC, a USB flash drive, and even stream content from a 10/100 Tbase Ethernet network, although an optional USB WiFi adapter can also be utilized.

Additional Information

All 6400 Series models also host an Eco Sensor that automatically calibrates the image brightness based on room conditions; DLNA compatibility; and two integrated speakers and an integrated woofer.

The biggest difference I can spot is the fact that the slightly more expensive UN40C6300SF has a refresh rate of 120Hz while the other is 60Hz. This will mostly be noticeable with 24p Blu-ray film content or high motion content.

Here's an image that gives an idea on the Series' differences

So as @yale mentioned, the 6300 has 120Hz vs the 5000's 60Hz. And there is a slight difference in contrast ratio, though in actual real world performance probably won't be that different.
