The OMNIA II is a high-end smartphone, soon to be released by Samsung on Verizon's network in the United States. Its 3.7" touchscreen utilizes AMOLED technology, a form of OLED, the emerging display technology which produces significantly brighter, sharper images regardless of lighting conditions or viewing angle. The Windows Mobile-based user interface includes widgets, an iPhone-like home menu, with applications loosely divided by function, and a 3D multimedia interface for navigating music, video, and photo libraries. A long list of upscale features, in addition to standard smartphone functionality, includes 5MP camera with DVD-quality recording capability, GPS navigation system, and 3D games. Third-party applications will be available to expand built-in functionality.
