Edit

The HMX-S16 is a top-end High Definition camcorder and is the most robust model in Samsung's S-Series. The camcorder combines high-end functionality for video capture, media storage, and world-first connectivity options that were not found in camcorders before the 2010 line-up. The camcorder is the first to be DLNA certified and have a built-in WiFi for transfering video and image captures without the use of any cables. A 64GB Solid State Drive is also included with the device, a file storage system that does not use moving mechanisms resulting in lower power consumption, lighter weight, higher resistance to impacts, and faster read and write times. Additionally, the camcorder is among the first to use Samsung's Victoria Engine, a video processor specifically designed to consume lower amounts of power and improve HD video capture with such functions as color, tone, and contrast enhancements. The system's video capture hardware consists of a Schneider Kreuznach Varioplan-HD lens with 18x Intell-Zoom, and a low-light level video capture options due to the camcorder's BSI CMOS imaging sensor.
