Samsung's  DV150F Smart Camera Dual View is an entry-level point-and-shoot digital camera, whose main feature is the inclusion of two distinct LCD displays. One of these is on the front, and is designed to facilitate self-portraits. This is the only model in Samsung's lineup that has this feature, and is the reason for a slight price increase over other Samsung and competing models. The basic shooting features of this product include 5x optical zoom, 720p HD video recording, and 16.2-megapixel sensor. There is also an improved Auto setting that uses algorithms to determine the ideal settings for any given shot.

Other features include integrated WiFi connectivity, which opens the door to several functions, such as Facebook and smartphone sharing, a "remote viewfinder" mode using a smartphone, and cloud storage. There is also an on-board photo editing feature that allows for some color retouches on the camera itself.

Access to Samsung's Smart Camera Apps

The DV150F works with Samsung's Smart Camera App (for iPhone and Android), which allows users to pair the camera with a smartphone. This allows access to automated uploading to that device, as well as using the smartphone as a remote viewfinder and adjust camera settings. This can make self-portraits and group shots including the photographer easier.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is include in the package?

Good question. A charger (which can be plugged into a power outlet or into a USB port on a computer (the USB part can be separated from the charger plug). You'll have to go out or online to get a microSD/SDHC card, which will be an additional $10, roughly. I actually had to download this info off the Samsung website for the camera, meaning it didn't come with the camera instructions that came with the package.

  • Is the battery rechargeable?

Yes. A charger is included, as well.
