It has a 65k color screen and side-mounted trackwheel for navigation. It has a large screen with large icons and intuitive menu. The 7280 is capable of wireless Internet browsing, email and email account synchronization, and is BlackBerry Messenger compatible to communicate with other BlackBerry users. It also connects to BlackBerry Internet Service Instant messaging to communicate with non-BlackBerry devices. The 7280 does not support Bluetooth wireless technology.
