The release of Puma's Basket CC was a major event in the sneaker-world as Color Changing was a new concept in the shoe industry. People who grew up in the 1980's and early 1990's will remember the Hypercolor T-shirts that changed color with heat and were popular during that time. Puma has applied the same concept to their Basket shoes, using special material that responds to the heat of your foot and the environment. To compliment the color-changing process Puma chose a leather upper that resembles chameleon skin with a bumpy, yet smooth surface. The bright green contrasting (found with the laces, stitching and sole) enhance the chameleon-like nature of the shoe.Color changes
Below zero degrees the leather is a solid black and moves to brown with green tinges to dark green to dark blue to a deep purple.
The video below shows the color changes although it's hard to see the subtle differences because of the low resolution.
